Overview
BodyCompOS is designed as a privacy-first application. We collect minimal information and we are transparent about everything we do with it. This Privacy Policy covers how data is handled on the BodyCompOS platform, including local storage, cookies, analytics, and advertising. By using BodyCompOS, you acknowledge this policy. Local Data Storage
BodyCompOS stores all user-entered information — including assessments, check-ins, goal settings, and strategy history — exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to BodyCompOS servers, third-party analytics platforms, or any external service in its current form. localStorage data persists until you clear your browser storage or explicitly delete it within the app. You can view and delete this data at any time through your browser's developer tools or storage settings.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
BodyCompOS currently uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies for the following purposes: (1) Theme preference storage — we save your light/dark mode preference in localStorage so it persists between visits. (2) Cookie consent — we store your response to the cookie consent banner in localStorage. (3) Advertising — BodyCompOS may display advertisements served by Google AdSense or similar ad networks. These services may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve personalized or contextual ads based on your browsing activity across websites. Google's advertising privacy controls are available at g.co/adsettings. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your browser settings or by using an opt-out tool provided by your country's data protection authority.
Third-Party Advertising
To keep BodyCompOS free for all users, we may partner with advertising networks including Google AdSense. When advertisements are displayed, the advertising network may set its own cookies on your browser to measure ad performance, limit frequency, and improve relevance. BodyCompOS does not sell your personal data to advertisers. We do not have access to the data collected by advertising networks through their own cookies. You may decline cookie consent using our banner, which will prevent non-essential cookies from being set by BodyCompOS, though third-party services may independently have their own cookie policies.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled in the future, this policy will be updated before any analytics service is activated. Currently, no analytics data is collected.
Your Rights and Controls
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any data associated with your use of BodyCompOS. Since all user data is stored locally in your browser, you exercise these rights directly through your browser's storage management.
